Our History

Juku-Do-Ryu was established by Shihan Darren Miles in September 2009 training out of the Camden Park Community Hall. After 14 years,  September 2023, we moved to our 3rd  and now  current location at Marion.

Juku-Do-Ryu is strictly self defense and built on a rich heritage tracing back to the founding fathers of martial arts in Great Britain. 

The Juku Do Ryu are all members of the Australian Ju-Jitsu Association, as an independent club, and are under the mentorship and guidance of President G.S. Bertoletti - WJJKO Milan.

Founder and Head Instructor Shihan Darren Miles has been training in Martial Arts for over 40 years and is a highly accredited, reputable instructor. Shihan Darren is also the South Australian representative for what is known as WJJKO Bertoletti Australia (due to copyright).

Our philosophy is one of self defence. We aim to teach our students (ages 6-75) the art of self defense where they can best practice their abilities in a safe, supportive environment.
